A Vision
I'd like to tell you about a radio program
I recently heard on the Internet.
A man named Sid Roth was interviewing
a pastor from Africa named Suprise Sithole.
I had the privilege of hearing Surprise speak
in Florida a few years ago. At that time he
related how, as a young man, he had come
to know Jesus. This was in spite of the fact
that his family for generations had lived
as witch doctors in a remote jungle area.
What impacted me the most about Surprise
was his humility and infectious joy. He is being
used mightily as a church planter in Mozambique.
In the radio interview, Surprise told of a vision
he had of Jesus. Christ was preparing tables for
the wedding supper. When a small gold ring fell.
Surprise said, it is so small only a baby could wear it.
Jesus replied, that was what His bride must be like.
Then Jesus took him to a castle wall. Surprise said,
that door, I will not fit through. Only a small child could.
Again Jesus said, my bride must be like that.
Then they entered a city. All the people were walking
around with trees growing out of the tops of their head.
He asked Jesus what this was. It is the tree of knowledge
and it needs to be cut off.
I was much impacted at the realization that I often walk
seeing others with the tree of the knowledge of their
good and evil. Instead of seeing them through the
finished work of Christ. Who has died for the sins of
the whole world.
I am determined to begin to see the tree of life.
Available now to all through Christ's Resurrection.
This is very freeing. Seeing with the mind of what
Jesus desires for both Saints and sinners.
With the expectation that those in my path,
can and will respond, Yes Lord.
And then be walking with the tree of life
over them.
The following are a few poems I have written.
God Revealing Thought
Rollout the carpet
of creation
music
art
drama
Stories that have not
been heard
songs
not yet sung
People
to climb into
and dig out
what they've done
Build a monument
make it out of
yet undiscovered
conglomerates of stone
Then plan for fountains
that spring up
from wells
that capture essences
of unknown
fragrant oils
Explore what once
was found
and then passed over
having not a vision
of its usefulness in time
Space exploring
microminiatures
examples of a new way
to display the molecules
of drops of dew
Paint a mural
that changes colored shapes
into each moment
Capturing the thought
that what is seen
is but a ragged image
of what God originally
had planned.
The Invisible's Image
So much
that can't be seen
Electricity
soundwaves
microwaves
the wires I see
The notes I hear
The food made hot
Gravity holds me fast
The microscopic parts
that make up me
stay put
when I sit or stand
Then there is God
there must be
For I feel the sun
and when it's clear
at night
can gaze at many more
He holds it altogether
and chose to let us see
all that is our space
in time
God sees
and saw
Christ placing
into each one
who let their eyes behold
the Son
truth
to set creation free
Embracing what we now
call love
every creature under Heaven
to be
through Christ's pure sacrifice
at one
at peace
through God
With His pure Spirit
reigning
over all.
More Than This World
When time has stretched
beyond the here and now
When day has dawned
without the need
of shadows
The space that we
be found in
is more then anyone alone
would choose
God himself removed
the veil
and opened up
the eye gate
providing garments
and a password
just for you
and He to know
The place prepared
a blending
of hopes perfected
As He fills the cracks
of our imperfect dreams
with what He knows
Far more then our
nearsighted eyes today
can understand.
