Entertainment
For those who haven't totally given up on movies. We recently rented a couple of good ones. "Penelope" reminded me of a fairy tale and was funny. "Martian Child" was more serious in story line but also had lots of humor. You will need Kleenex in a couple spots.
Here are some reflections:
Morning Pages
Storing up memories
images of joy
Alexus and Amanda
walking in the front door
giving hugs
The Tinneys all sitting around
playing with the cat Buddy
Travis laughing
Pictures to be revisited
over and over
memory bits of joy
the cost 0
Amanda and Alexus feeding
a hungry deer potatoes
Its shiny black hooves
perched up on the porch
Long delicate legs
A mental channel change
to an image of a groundhog
eating an ice cream cone
holding it up
with his paws
What a fun painting
with a nice green
fur tree branch behind him
My life is fragmented
my attention torn
To choose what first
to stick to
and see through
to a productive end
Terry is my constant
the fabric on which to lay out
the day
The bracket with which my life
is connected
my underpinning
In the background
that boiler room of God
stoking the fire of life
keeping the pistons chugging
giving breath
Sitting in the distance
on an alabaster bench
one tall thin cedar tree
beside her
Surrounded by manicured
rolling lawn
dressed in an empire wasted gown
sifts one from generations past
dreaming of tomorrow
on a far off shore
Somewhere in her dream
a seed was planted
to lead us to this day
She didn't see the hardship
or the deaths
She only longed for the sunrise
on a distance shore.

A Book Review
A Book Review
I just finished a great book. "The Shack" by William Young. The first few chapters were not my cup of tea, although they were well written. Then it really got good. The cover has a comment that compares it to Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress". I think this is true. It really gets you to rethink paradigms that have greatly limited mans relationship to God. It was so exciteing that, although a fiction book, I took notes because I want time to contemplate some of the representations proposed by characteristics of the Trinity. This is all I will say about it for now. My mind is still wrapping around much of the possibilities proposed through the characters in the book. A good friend was over today who is also reading the book. It was very enjoyable to have someone to talk to about how to assimilate possibilities exposed through these characters.
I have a slight case of cabin fever and will have my mother in law drop me off at some store while she is at the gym. We in the deep South stay indoors where it is air-conditioned like Northerners escaping winters chill.

about the wind

About the Wind
When you live on an island, it is always a good idea to follow all storms in the Atlantic with a serious eye. Then when one misses you, prayers for the next landfall kick in since you are intimately conected with what is involved with a direct hit. We lived in Morgan City La. for a year. While there we sat through the scariest hurricane I have ever been in and I've been in a few. The winds were howeling and rain came in under the door and windows. I will be happy if I never experience another hurricane.
I have been enjoying the free video's on www.fathersglory.com. I am relatively new to the Internet and gave my E Mail address. Right after this I received my first spam. Now I will be more careful where I give my information.
We had an impromptu barbecue yesterday. It began with one friend coming over and grew to over a dozen. There was plenty of food and a good time was had by all. Sometimes unexpected celebrations are the best. No long range planning necessary.
I have been transported back to the 4th grade. My grandaughter is visiting and she has brought her home school C.D.s. So my liveing room is filled with the sound of a language arts class.
Today I want to keep the beautiful face of Jesus formost in my mind's eye and allow His peace to buid my confidence that the future is calmly in His capable hands.

the sun after the rain
blog two
Friday
The sun is peeking out. After 30 inches of rain, we are glad to see it. The lake that formed in our backyard has drained. No damage, praise God.
I have found my way onto "you tube". I still flounder around trying to find what I have been shown is available. The "signs and wonders" videos tend to confirm how extravagant in love God is and wants to show us.
I just finished Heidi Baker's book "Compelled by Love". She quotes Mother Teresa. Two women that I would love to sit and learn from. Heidi lives faith as a little child. So pleasing to Jesus.

learning the ropes
I have entered the information age head first. This is my first blog. Purpose, to encourage and enspire.
A Prayer
More of You and less of me
be the Captain of my will
handed unto You
Strength from You
flaiming love
moveing me beyond
into your streaming
rapids
Crushing every counterfeited
templet of
God's one and
only Son
